Music icon, Chris Cornell, died suddently this week just hours after performing what would have been his last show. The Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman, while a rocker, had connections to our country music world.

In 2014, he performed alongside Jason Aldean at the CMT Artists of the Year event.

The following year, the Zac Brown Band released their "Jekyll + Hyde" album which featured Chris Cornell on the song "Heavy is the Head." While it wasn't sent to country radio, it did make it's way up the rock charts in 2015. Together they performed on Saturday Night Live.

Chris Cornell was 52.
